As an Independent Living Center dedicated to helping people gain and keep control of their lives, CLW has services that are available to anyone with a disability. Scott Putnam, who has Cerebral Palsy, travels to Massachusetts schools giving students a chance to get up close and ask questions, to understand more about people with disabilities. "The Center for Living and Working has been instrumental in helping me establish my independence both personally and professionally. Through CLW, I established a program we call 'Let Them Ask' where we visit with young students who aren't disabled. During this time together we let them stare, let them wonder, let them ask, and let them learn. It's an awesome experience."

"My visit to CLW was most helpful and instructive. I just lost my husband and didn't realize how truly deaf I was without him. He always answered the phone and the doorbell. Suddenly I couldn't hear them but with my new specialized equipment from CLW, I feel much safer. CLW is truly performing a much needed service for those of us who are deaf or hard of hearing." -Catherine, one of CLW's consumers.

Access and awareness. Community Advocacy Specialist, the Reverend Dr. Dawn E. Clark, who lives independently with cerebral palsy, spends her days doing whatever it takes to promote both. <i>"Persons with disabilities have innate gifts, like anyone else. And these gifts should be fully shared with the world. We help make this happen through our advocacy work."</i>
